What’s life like at IT Sligo?

CAMPUS
AT IT SLIGO

Where you live and study is critical to your development. IT Sligo recognises that a bright, open built environment facilitates learning and fosters engagement among students and between students and staff. Our campus is set on a 72-acre site, close to Sligo town, with plentiful student accommodation within walking distance. Following a €35 million capital development programme, the campus boasts new technology and science buildings, a state-of-the-art library and a new student services building.

SOCIAL
AT IT SLIGO

Our students get to experience a buzzing social scene and a stunning location in the West of Ireland, offering access to surfing, sailing and many other activities. Sligo town boasts a lively mix of bars, cafes and restaurants. There is an active arts and culture sector and an abundance of outdoors activities, not the least of which is an internationally renowned surfing scene. Our Student Centre has a custom-built area where students can relax, away from busy college life.

CLUBS
AT IT SLIGO

Part of the IT Sligo experience is making new friends and broadening horizons and our clubs and societies are a great way to do both. IT Sligo boasts more than 30 active clubs and societies, with a range of interests, from sports and martial arts to traditional music and the Mature Students society. Students are encouraged to sign up to a club or society that interests them or to even set up their own club or society.

SPORTS
AT IT SLIGO

IT Sligo boasts the facilities to match how seriously our students take their sports. IT Sligo’s success in sports is reflected in its three Sigerson Club titles. Students train and play in our top class sports and recreation facilities, including an all-weather running track, a 3G astro pitch and floodlit championship-standard playing pitches. The Knocknarea Arena has a multi-purpose sports hall and fully-equipped gym. IT Sligo runs a Sports Scholarship scheme for those students striving to reach their full potential and compete at the highest level possible in their sport of choice.
