BB in Accounting (add on)
We have designed this course primarily for those who have a previous qualification in Accounting, such as the Higher Certificate in Business in Accounting. This one year add-on course leads to the award of an ordinary degree in Business/Accounting. It aims to equip you with advanced knowledge of Accounting that may, if you wish, provide a route into professional accountancy.

In addition to a Higher Certificate in Business we ask that students demonstrate a competence in accounting. This means a mark of 50% or above in your previous accounting subjects.
Career Opportunities
Previous graduates have progressed to careers as accountants, financial analysts, investment managers and in banking. You will be able to fill any of these roles, and feedback from industry tells us graduates from this programme are highly regarded in industry.
What are my further study opportunities?
The majority of our students progress to an honours degree such as the Bachelor of Business (Hons) taking the accounting and finance stream at IT Sligo. You then have the option to study for professional accounting examinations with one of the professional bodies, such as the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
