Abstract:
The primary aims and objectives of this study are:
- Assessment of the horizontal equilibrium and strain compatibility at the extremities of a piled embankments.
- Assessment of the lateral load on piles groups and the resistance required to prevent excessive deformations or excessive loading of the piles.
- Numerical analysis of the stress and displacements of pile groups at the extremities of a piled embankment.
- Selection of design methods and failure criteria for the design of pile groups under the extremities of embankments.
