Paul Ferry is an Assistant Lecturer in the
department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and the department of
Mechatronics at the Institute of Technology Sligo since 2014. He holds a MA in
Learning, Teaching and Assessment and a Professional Diploma in Education
through the University of Limerick. He also holds Bachelors degrees from the
Institute of Technology Sligo and a National Craft Certificate in
Fitting/Turning. He also completed a Pure Mathematics course through Open
University.
Paul is currently the programme chair of a
Process Technology programme and is also the year coordinator for first year mechanical
and precision engineering & design students and is actively involved in the
recruitment of new graduates. He lectures in a range of modules including Manufacturing
& Engineering Technology, Mechatronics Technology, Computer Aided Design
and CAD & Modelling.
Paul had almost 20 years industrial experience
in the engineering sector before taking up his position at IT Sligo. His
experience ranged from machine design and manufacture, automation technology
and project management. He has a strong interest in innovative methods of
teaching, learning and assessment. |
