Update: June 2022
- ATU Sligo COVID response plan was updated in March 22 to reflect the transitional protocol
- maintaining policies and procedures for prompt identification and isolation of staff and students who may have symptoms and should not attend campus with any symptoms
- maintain Covid-19 infection prevention and control measures
- Hand Hygiene is encouraged and on-campus facilities provided
- Persons on campus should respect other people’s personal space and physical distance where possible
- CO2 monitors will remain in place until the end of the calendar year and the situation then reviewed.
- fully returned to pre-pandemic on-campus teaching activities unless there is evidence of a covid-related reason why this cannot happen
- ATU Sligo COVID Response Team continues to meet monthly and in consultation with the Lead Worker Reps; ATU team is meeting regularly as a steering meeting
- Maintaining covid-related signage will depend on developments over the summer
- There will be an overarching ATU policy statement which will reference the three individual college Covid Response Plans; will be updated locally in advance of Sept.

- If you have any cold/flu-like symptoms – runny nose, sore throat, headache, temperatures, then stay home, don’t go to work, don’t go to college, don’t go out socialising or invite other people into your home.
- If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, self-isolate (stay in your room) and get a free COVID-19 test. If you are waiting on the results of a COVID-19 test you should be isolating. Do not go to college.
- If you are unsure about symptoms you are experiencing or if you should be attending college, contact your GP or your Student Health Centre for advice. Phone: 0719305463 or studenthealthservices@nullitsligo.ie
- If symptomatic you should stay at home and have a COVID-19 test even though you are vaccinated, as in some cases could still get COVID-19 and transmit it to others.
- You can return to your normal activities when you have had a negative PCR test and it is 48 hours since your symptoms have resolved. This includes going to work or college.
- If you have had a COVID-19 “positive” or “detected” result, follow the advice from the HSE Contact Tracing Team in relation to return to college date. You will need to self-isolate for 10 full days from when the symptoms of COVID-19 started, with no fever for the last 5 days.
- If you are COVID-19 “positive” please contact the Student Health Centre for advice and information on the supports available to you.
· If you are a Household close contact of someone who tests positive for COVID – 19, you will need to restrict your movements (stay at home) until you have 3 negative antigen test results within 5 days of taking the first antigen test. How to get your free test here
