Green Campus
The Green Campus initiative at ATU Sligo strives to empower transformation to a sustainable society for all our stakeholders including students, staff, the organisations we work with and the community in which we live and serve.
We acknowledge that our operations, activities, and infrastructure affect our natural environment and the wellbeing of our planet.
We have been awarded the prestigious Green Flag award as part of An Taisce’s Green-Campus programme.
We are cognisant of our responsibility to reduce our impact and transition to a more sustainable Institute.
Central to our ambition is to embed sustainability throughout our student and staff experience. In doing this we have set out a Charter to communicate our ambition.
Our mission is to:
- Minimise our environmental impact
- Embed sustainability in all we do
- Work with our local community for a sustainable change

"Joining the Green Campus committee is a great way to make connections with other students and lecturers who share the same passion for the environment. I’ve learned so much from being on the Green Campus committee. It’s great to feel like you’re part of something that’s making a real difference."
