ATU Sligo is delighted to offer scholarship opportunities to international students.

These scholarships are available to Non-EU International students who are applying to full time, on-campus courses at ATU Sligo.
Applicants can only receive one International Scholarship offered by ATU Sligo. Please review the scholarship information carefully before making an application.

Country of Origin Scholarship 2022-23
- 10% or 15% tuition fee scholarship to eligible Non-EU applicants for full time, on campus courses.
- Applicants from a country with a GDP (per capita) of $12, 500 or less are eligible for a 15% tuition fee scholarship.
- Applicants from a country with a GDP (per capita) of less than $25,000 (but greater than $12,500) are eligible for a 10% tuition fee scholarship.
- Once a student has been awarded a country of origin scholarship, they can continue to avail of the scholarship during their studies at ATU Sligo, subject to certain conditions.

- Scholarship is open to Non-EU applicants who have received an offer to study on a full-time, on-campus programme at ATU Sligo and who are eligible for Non-EU tuition fees.
- The scholarship can only be awarded as a tuition fee reduction.
- In all instances the determination of GDP figures for applicants to Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes at ATU Sligo will be assessed through the most recently available statistics from the World Bank.
- Scholarship recipients cannot avail of any other International scholarships offered by ATU Sligo.
Once a student has been awarded a ‘Country of Origin’ scholarship, they can continue to avail of the scholarship during their time studying at the IT Sligo, subject to the following condition(s):
- The scholarship will be awarded every year provided the student has completed all 60 ECTS Stage credits (Stages 1, 2, 3, 4) and is ‘Approved to Progress’ to the next Stage of their programme.
- If a student must repeat attend OR repeat exams only, they will not qualify for a scholarship for that academic year.
- If the student successfully completes their repeat year, they can qualify for the scholarship again in subsequent year.
Your eligibility for the scholarship will be assessed as part of your application to study at ATU Sligo.

English Language Merit Scholarship 2022-23
- 15% tuition fee scholarships to eligible Non-EU applicants for full time, on campus courses.
- Applicants must achieve a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall to be eligible for this scholarship.
- Once a student has been awarded a country of origin scholarship, they can continue to avail of the scholarship during their studies at ATU Sligo, subject to certain conditions.

- Scholarship is open to Non-EU applicants who have received an offer to study on a full-time, on-campus programme at ATU Sligo and who are eligible for Non-EU tuition fees.
- The scholarship can only be awarded as a tuition fee reduction.

Claddagh Scholarship Programme 2022/23
The Claddagh Scholarship Program (CSP) is an initiative aimed at fostering closer links between Ireland and China by encouraging Chinese students to choose Ireland as a study destination. ATU Sligo will be offering 8 scholarships for Chinese nationals through the Claddagh Scholarship Programme for the 2022/23 Academic Year. Please see Terms and Conditions for further information
Undergraduate
- Scholarship Value: €2,500 per academic year.
- Eligible Courses: Honours Bachelor’s Degree in the Faculties of Engineering & Design, Science, Business & Social Sciences.
Postgraduate
- Scholarship value: €2,500 per academic year.
- Eligible Courses: MSc in Bioprocessing Science, MEng in Geotechnical Engineering with Structural Engineering and MEng in Structural Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering.
- Scholarship is open to Chinese nationals who are eligible for Non-EU tuition fees.
- The scholarship can only be awarded as a tuition fee reduction.
- Successful Claddagh Scholarship recipients are not eligible for ATU Sligo’s Country of Origin OR the English Language Merit Scholarships.
- Scholarships are only available for applicants who have an offer to study on an eligible full time, on-campus course. At undergraduate level eligible courses include Honours Bachelor’s Degree in the Faculties of Engineering & Design, Science, Business & Social Sciences. Eligible courses at postgraduate level include MSc in Bioprocessing Science, MEng in Geotechnical Engineering with Structural Engineering and MEng in Structural Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering
- Applicants must meet the scholarship requirements and criteria detailed on the Education in Ireland website.
- Applicants are required to submit their application via the Education Ireland website
- The application deadline is the 31 May 2022.
- Late applications cannot be accepted.
International Partner Institution Scholarship 2022/23
- This scholarship offers 15% tuition fee scholarships to eligible Non-EU applicants for full time, on campus programmes.
- Applicants must transfer to ATU Sligo from an official Non-European partner institution.
- Once a student has been awarded a country of origin scholarship, they can continue to avail of the scholarship during their studies at IT Sligo, subject to certain conditions. Please see Terms and Conditions for further information
Scholarship is open to eligible Non-EU applicants who have received an offer to study on a full-time, on-campus programme at ATU Sligo and who are eligible for Non-EU tuition fees.
- The scholarship can only be awarded as a tuition fee reduction.
- International Partnership Scholarship recipients cannot also avail of a ‘Country of Origin’, ‘English Language Merit Scholarship’, ‘Claddagh Scholarship’ OR ‘Ireland Homecoming Scholarship.
- Once a student has been awarded a ‘Country of Origin’ scholarship, they can continue to avail of the scholarship during their time studying at IT Sligo, subject to the following condition(s):
- The scholarship will be awarded every year provided the student has completed all 60 ECTS Stage credits (Stages 1, 2, 3, 4) and is ‘Approved to Progress’ to the next Stage of their programme
- If a student must repeat attend OR repeat exams only, they will not qualify for a scholarship for that academic year
- If the student successfully completes their repeat year, they can qualify for the scholarship again in subsequent years.

Ireland Homecoming Scholarship 2022/23
- This scholarship reduce tuition fees to €7,500 per academic year for eligible Non-EU applicants studying on full time, on campus programmes.
- Applicants must be the child, grandchild or great grandchild of an Irish national.
- Once a student has been awarded a scholarship, they can continue to avail of the scholarship during their studies at ATU Sligo, subject to certain conditions.

- Scholarship is open to eligible Non-EU applicants who have received an offer to study on a full-time, on-campus programme at ATU Sligo and who are eligible for Non-EU tuition fees.
- The scholarship can only be awarded as a tuition fee reduction.
Each applicant must produce certified original birth certificates proving they are a child, grand-child, or great grandchild of an Irish national along with documentary evidence of Irish citizenship for the named Irish national.
- Ireland Homecoming Scholarship recipients cannot avail of any other international scholarship offered by ATU Sligo.
- Once a student has been awarded a scholarship, they can continue to avail of the scholarship during their time studying at ATU Sligo, subject to the following condition(s):
- The scholarship will be awarded every year provided the student has completed all 60 ECTS Stage credits (Stages 1, 2, 3, 4) and is ‘Approved to Progress’ to the next Stage of their programme
- If a student must repeat attend OR repeat exams only, they will not qualify for a scholarship for that academic year
- If the student successfully completes their repeat year, they can qualify for the scholarship again in subsequent years.
Your eligibility for the scholarship will be assessed as part of your application to study at ATU Sligo.

Each applicant must produce certified original birth certificates proving they are a child, grand-child, or great grandchild of an Irish
national along with documentary evidence of Irish citizenship for the named Irish national.

International Alumni Postgraduate Scholarship 2022/23
- 20% tuition fee scholarship available to Non-EU students who have graduated from an undergraduate programme at ATU Sligo and are progressing to a postgraduate degree at ATU Sligo.
- The scholarship can only be awarded as a tuition fee reduction.
- Scholarship recipients cannot avail of any other international scholarship offered by ATU Sligo.
- Applicants must have graduated from an undergraduate course at ATU Sligo
- Applicants must have received an offer to study at a full time, on-campus taught postgraduate courseat ATU Sligo
- Applicants must be eligible for Non-EU tuition fees.
Your eligibility for the scholarship will be assessed as part of your application to study at ATU Sligo.

Colleges Ontario (Canada) Scholarships 2022-23
- €2,000 tuition fee scholarship for College Ontario (Canada) students who transfer to ATU Sligo undergraduate courses through an articulation or transfer agreement.

- Scholarship is open to Non-EU applicants who have received an offer to study on a full-time, on-campus undergraduate programme at ATU Sligo and who are eligible for Non-EU tuition fees.
- The scholarship can only be awarded as a tuition fee reduction.
- Applicants must be College Ontario (Canada) students who transfer to ATU Sligo undergraduate courses through an articulation or transfer agreement.
- Scholarship recipients cannot avail of any other International scholarship offered by ATU Sligo.
- Once a student has been awarded a scholarship, they can continue to avail of the scholarship during their time studying at the ATU Sligo.
Your eligibility for the scholarship will be assessed as part of your application to study at ATU Sligo.

Sultanate of Oman - Government Scholarship Program 2022-23
- €1,650 tuition fee scholarship for eligible students sponsored by the Embassy of Oman in London (UK) who apply for a undergraduate course at ATU Sligo.
- Scholarship is open to Non-EU applicants who have received an offer to study on a full-time, on-campus undergraduate programme at ATU Sligo and who are eligible for Non-EU tuition fees.
- The scholarship can only be awarded as a tuition fee reduction.
- Applicants must be sponsored by the Embassy of Oman in London (UK).
- Scholarship recipients cannot avail of any other International scholarship offered by ATU Sligo.
- Once a student has been awarded a scholarship, they can continue to avail of the scholarship during their time studying at the ATU Sligo.
