Originally from Monkstown, Co. Dublin attended Rockford Manor, Monkstown, Junior School and Roslyn Park, Sandymount, Secondary School. B.Sc. in Microbiology from University College Dublin. Commenced employment with Cadbury Ireland Limited as a Control and Development Chemist subsequently progressed to the position of Process Technologist. M.Appl.Sc. (Food Science) from University College Dublin attained while employed by Cadburys. Lecturer in Microbiology at the Institute of Technology Sligo. Teach on the Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health and Life Science Courses. Coordinator for Transition Year Taster weeks at the School of Science.  Special area of interest Occupational Biohazards.
