Bio:
A graduate of UCD, Cardiff University and University of Galway, she is passionate about education, is Dean of Undergraduate Medical Education, Sligo Medical Academy, Dean of Postgraduate Psychiatry Basic Specialist Training with the University of Galway/RCSI Deanery, College of Psychiatrists of Ireland, External Examiner MSc Dementia (UCC) and National Clinical Lead, Model of Care for Psychiatry of Old Age. She has contributed to the National Dementia Model of care, National Delirium Pathway, National Clinical Guideline 21. She is actively involved in research on Delirium, Dementia, Brain Health, Tele-health and is Irish PI on BRAIN Diabetes a multimodal INTERREG CHITIN Randomised Controlled Trial and Co-Applicant on the recently awarded HRB Dementia Trials Ireland Network

Innovation in Mental Health – The Sligo experience
Bio:
Aislinn has over 25 years’ experience in health care, both clinically, and in business, specialising in digital health care in mental health, primary care mental health and Long Term Conditions. She is a qualified nurse-practitioner in mental health. Awarded an MSc in Health Informatics, from TCD and MSc in Digital Transformation UL.
For several years she has worked with services to digitalise their care pathways to increasing capacity, reducing waiting list and improving access whilst improving quality care, patient safety and healthier outcomes through creative innovation of technologies, systems and services in and the wider community. She has written and been involved in over 20 publications on innovation and Digital Health
Her current role is General Manager digital Health, across Community Organisation Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Monaghan and Sligo. It involves using the quadruple helix, of innovation 2.0, to develop services supported by digital tools that empower and support the best possible person-centred care and to support staff and services, through the use of technology.

John Gaffney is the Education and Outreach Cluster Manager and manages the newly formed Digital Health Industries Cluster. The Cluster is hosted in Atlantic Technological University, Galway funded by Enterprise Ireland. John has experience in the start-up entrepreneurial ecosystem as a former BioInnovate Fellow, Freelance Consultant, and life sciences start-up mentor. John has over 25 years’ experience in senior leadership roles. John is a former Plant Manager with Hollister and RR Donnelley, Global Turnkey Solutions. John has a passion for strategy, business, and commercial excellence. John is also a life sciences mentor with Enterprise Ireland and The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT Health).
