Get Involved
Become part of ATU Sligo Green Campus!
Each of us individually and collectively can play an integral part in transforming to a sustainable society.
ATU Sligo commits to support and promote such sustainable citizenship amongst students, staff and our wider community. We have a proud tradition of environmental stewardship, educating environmental scientist for over 30 years.
We strive to develop this educational foundation and promote sustainable citizenship through our Green Campus.
How do I get involved?
Green campus is student lead, research-informed and community-driven.
It aims to promote sustainable citizenship in all aspects of college life, thereby helping our society and future generations address climate change challenges.
Our Student Committee coordinates our Green Campus activities with the help of the ATU Sligo Sustainability Officer and several key staff.
Green Campus is a priority of ATU Sligo and is supported by senior management through the Green Campus Oversight Committee.
Green Campus Student Committee
As a student, you can get involved by joining the Green Campus Student Committee. Give a little time, or give a lot! The Green Campus Committee is open to full-time on-campus students and online distance learning students, regardless of where you are on the planet.
Our student committee organises events, workshops and talks to help raise the awareness of Green Campus and ensures our institute continues on its transformation to a more sustainable education facility.
We look for new student members at the start of each academic year. If you are interested in joining and making a difference to our campus, you can drop in anytime.
ATU Sligo Student Environmental Society
Student-run, the Environmental Society in the ATU Sligo Students Union is a great way to meet other students, organise environmental activities and get involved in local and national environmental issues.
Green Campus Staff Forum
Our Green Campus Forum is where our students and staff meet to help direct our activities on campus. If you are a new or existing member of staff (academic or support staff), you can join the forum.
We hold a Forum workshop each semester with Green Campus Committee and Forum members. We discuss specific sustainability topics. We also have a monthly coffee meet up, our ‘Green Campus Fika’, where we drink coffee, eat cake and talk sustainability!
